The WhinoRhino Preservation Society was founded in 1999 by an enterprising young woman whose day job was propping up the downstairs bar at the Capital Lounge. There she experienced first hand the plight of the WhinoRhino and conceived the idea for the Preservation Society. After a few more gin and tonics, and lengthy consultations with the bartender, the idea took shape and the WRP was born.
